Our Story
I've been a carpenter since leaving school, working my way up through general building and joinery before specialising in fitted bedrooms. Turners Designs is my own venture within the family business, set up four years ago to focus on one thing: bedroom storage that's built to fit your room exactly, not squeezed in from a flat-pack range.
Every wardrobe starts with a visit to your home. I measure the space myself, talk through what you actually need it to hold, and design around any awkward angles, sloped ceilings or alcoves rather than working around them. Nothing leaves the workshop until I'm happy with the finish.
I work with premium timbers and veneers because they last, and because a fitted bedroom is something you'll live with for years, not something to redo in five. Every door, drawer and shelf is built and fitted by hand. Most of my work comes from word of mouth around York, and I'd rather keep it that way.
Our Journey

Started as a carpenter
Left school and began training as a carpenter and cabinet maker, learning traditional joinery techniques on the job.
- 2022
Turners Designs founded
Set up Turners Designs within the family business to focus solely on bespoke fitted bedrooms and wardrobes.

Present day
Designing and fitting bespoke bedrooms across York, Beverley, Selby and the surrounding towns.
